Happy birthday, dear Foodperson

March 29th, 2008 · 4 Comments · General

I almost missed it, but today (light the candle) is the first anniversary of the first post on Foodperson.com. My software tells me that the year has brought (before this one) 235 posts and 335 comments, although a bunch are my comments responding to your comments.

It’s been an interesting year. I’ve learned a lot about WordPress, the software I use for the blog. I’ve virtually met several other bloggers, and I’ve signed on as a co-blogger on Ethicurean. I’ve bought and am still learning my digital camera to shoot pictures for the blog. I like learning new things. I’m still not making any money here, as I’d like to some day, but I’m not going to worry about it for now and I’ve also decided not to worry about being too parochial or too broad in my topics. I’m still figuring out which posts to run here and which to run on Ethicurean, but I think that is sorting itself out.

I appreciate your readership, I adore your comments (more! more!), and I hope you’ll mention Foodperson.com to anyone you think might be interested. Salut!

Happy birthday and congratulations, Janet and FoodPerson! :-) Hmmm… do you think this calls for a celebration? Say… a jar of jam? ;-)

    Happy Birthday Foodperson!
I always enjoy reading your blog-you are connected to so many issues/people and are an outstanding champion for local, sustainable ag!
I looked for you (Karen and I were on a mission to find you during Wednesday’s reception) during the conference last week! (And sorry about the meat-heavy menu; it didn’t seem as such on paper!!)

    Hey, thanks, you two!

Jennifer, don’t you spend money to send me jam! I’ve been savoring it virtually. :)

And Mercedes, I totally forgot you and Karen were planning that reception, darn it. Otherwise, I might have opted for it rather than working for money. As to the meat-heavy menu, well, if you can find much else fresh from these parts these days, I want to know your sources!!

Happy blogday. Obviously, you need a full set of alphabet cakes (or muffins or jalapeño cornbread, made with pancetta and blue corn, or maybe all of the above, which would be our choice). We wish you ever more joy and a lifetime of glorious meals.
