Starting with the next post, I am initiating a series in which I’ll tell you about many of my favorite local foods. It’s easy to identify my number one favorite: local produce. Eating the locally grown tomatoes, especially, is almost a religious experience. I spend several weeks in the summer savoring them and the rest of the year craving them.
For now, anyway, I’ll focus on local foods I can get year round. For each item, I’ll attempt to identify:
- what I like about it
- where you can get it
- a little information about the farmers or producers, if it’s processed in some way
If you know of some local product that I don’t mention, let me know. Maybe it isn’t my kind of thing or, more likely, I don’t know about it.
