Love that fresh local produce but can’t drag yourself out of bed on Saturday morning? I understand. You might be surprised to learn that your farmers also offer produce for sales at other times. I don’t know about yours, of course, but my local market now has market days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in addition to Saturday morning. They’re 4-6 p.m. so that people can catch them after work. While it’s true that there aren’t as many vendors, there also aren’t as many customers, so it’s less crowded. How to know? Check out localharvest.org, which lists hundreds (thousands?) of markets and details about them. You may find a more comprehensive but perhaps less-detailed list via the USDA’s links to state markets.
